Have been meaning to read Carrington since I learnt she was a friend of Barbara Comyns, of whom I'm a great fan. Will try and track down a copy of The Hearing Trumpet soon!

You should definitely read it! Carrington is an amazing writer and her voice leads you through the story in such a quirky manner that you can’t help but be enchanted by her words.

While searching for surrealist paintings featuring breastmilk, I discovered a children’s book by Carrington, The Milk of Dreams, written in the 1950s and published posthumously.

I have not had a chance to read it but when I realised that she was also an author that was a pivotal moment. Of course we can be both!
